What it's about
Having returned to his birthplace--a rugged small village plagued by poverty and superstition--after a missed opportunity to create a better future in Germany, illiterate shepherd Thanos dreams of emigrating to far-off Australia. However, with his mother standing in the way of a new life, hell-bent on marrying him off to Despina, the pampered daughter of the community's most prominent and wealthy member, rebellion is brewing. Now, Thanos is at war with society, and there's no turning back. What's in store for a rebel on the run?
