Thota Ramudu (N. T. Rama Rao), son of a lowly gardener, falls for the princess of Ujjain (Malathi). Her father, the king of Ujjain, sets a challenge before him to prove himself worthy of the princess's hand. Nepala Manthrikudu (S. V.
