What it's about

In 2006, Louiza Laskaratou, a successful professional living in the UK, is abruptly called back to Athens following the sudden and unexpected death of her father, a renowned lawyer. As she navigates her grief, Louiza discovers an astonishing inheritance-one that forces her to question the foundation of everything she thought she knew about her family's history. Among the assets she inherits is her father's incomplete investigation into a long-lost painting, which mysteriously vanished just before the execution of her grandmother, Louise Laskaratou, during the spring of 1944 under the shadow of German occupation. Driven by a need for answers, Louiza embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. She soon realizes that the painting's discovery holds the key to solving the mystery of her grandmother's tragic death. As Louiza delves deeper into her family's secrets, her journey takes her back to the turbulent era of Nazi-occupied Athens. The line between the past and present blurs as she uncovers hidden betrayals, untold stories, and unexpected alliances. Through this perilous odyssey, Louiza must confront not only her family's buried truths but also her own identity.
